Transportation Adults with developmental disabilities can get transportation services to become more active in the community. Individuals can choose how much of their DD funding they want to use for transportation and decide how many trips they need. Individuals can get transportation to and from their house to community activities and to their job if they have one. The important thing to remember is the trips they get must be part of their Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals. There are three ways individuals can get transportation services: Individuals can pay their agency for transportation they provide. Individuals can use their funds to pay for trips on The RIde Program (RIPTA). Individuals can use the self-direct option for transportation, even if they use an agency for most services. Through self-direction, they can pay for trips on Uber, Lyft or taxi service or to pay someone they know to drive them.
